Captain Leo Wright

Captain Leo Wright is a fully insured and licensed United States Coast Guard Captain. His Merchant Marine Credential covers Near Coastal ocean waters, which includes the Great Lakes and Inland Waterways.

A native New Englander, Leo has also lived in Florida and currently resides in Northern Michigan. Leo holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from Roger Williams College in Rhode Island. He began his career as a staff Marine Biologist for Sea World of Florida.

Leo has decades of fishing experience for both fresh and saltwater species from northern coastal Maine to the Florida flats. From Maine’s stripers, bluefish, Atlantic land-locked salmon and brook trout to Florida’s redfish and snook, Leo’s experience is diverse. Of course, the hard-fighting, ever challenging smallmouth bass is a favorite. He has sought them in many locales, such as Maine, Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Midwest.

Leo’s vast fishing experience and love for water and sport, provides you a fun and rewarding adventure. He is skilled in both fly fishing and light tackle techniques. Leo can provide instruction on casting and equipment selection, along with tackle and fly recommendations for the day’s fishing quarry.
