Leo Wright Guide Service LLC– Fly fishing the majestic waters of the Muskegon River and NW Michigan waterways

Greetings from Leo Wright Guide Service LLC
Fall |
With nearly 40 years of fishing experience, our guide service specializes in fly fishing excursions on the Muskegon River - one of the midwest’s most famous tail water fisheries. In the fall the hunt is on for the migratory Chinook Salmon, followed by the explosive Steelhead Trout. |
Winter |
Through the winter period, the hardy angler can find many fine Steelhead. Winter also brings surprisingly great nymph fishing for Rainbow and Brown Trout. |
Early Spring |
As the cold waters of the mighty river warm, spring brings an additional push of migratory Steelhead as they prepare for their annual spawning ritual. Many an angler will be rewarded with large rising trout chasing stoneflies. |
Late Spring |
Late spring and early summer provide tremendous top water action as the predominant hatches awake. The predominant hatches include Tan and Green Caddis, Sulphers, Isonychias and massive numbers of Grey Drakes with spinner falls a sight to behold. |
Summer |
Summer time, my personal favorite, provides warm afternoons of amazing Smallmouth Bass fishing. Having chased Smallmouth extensively from Maine to Pennsylvania, Virginia and throughout the Midwest, pound for pound, our Midwest Smallmouth are about the hardest fighting fish you will find. Smallmouth will readily take patterns throughout the water column, with peak excitement as you find them crashing top water presentations. A can’t miss fishing experience! |
